Start with what the signs actually say.
Use the app only when safely stopped. Review every transcription and the signs around your spot yourself.
Capture and review
Choose sign photos, take a photo or enter the wording. Apple’s on-device text recognition helps transcribe a photo; you review the words before continuing.
Add your parking context
Confirm which signs apply, when you parked and how long you plan to stay. The preview compares a limited set of understood sign wording against that interval.
Keep a record
Save reviewed text, your note, times and an optional confirmed map pin. Set a local reminder, or use the standalone timer.
Useful details
Notes, reminders and a reference map.
These features are implemented in the private preview. Real-phone behavior and accessibility checks remain part of release preparation.
- Read aloud
- Ask the app to read the displayed result and its warning. Speech starts only when you choose it, and you can stop it.
- Nearby map
- Browse a Philadelphia reference map from Apple MapKit. Location updates require your action and iOS permission; the map does not show live space availability.
- Saved parking notes
- Revisit the text and context you saved. A saved result records an earlier check, rather than a fresh check of the curb.
- Return reminders
- Request an on-device reminder. Delivery depends on iOS permissions, notification settings and Focus.
Before you rely on a parking app
What does “Unable to determine” mean?
The preview only compares wording its limited rules engine understands. Unknown, temporary, conflicting or incomplete signs can produce “Unable to determine.” Read the posted signs yourself; the app cannot settle an ambiguous curb.
Does it find free or vacant parking?
No. The reference map does not establish whether a space is vacant, free or legal. Location accuracy does not establish which curb a rule applies to.
Does it check or pay Philadelphia parking tickets?
No live ticket lookup, new-ticket alerts, payment or dispute service is available in this preview. It is an independent project, not an app from the Philadelphia Parking Authority or the City of Philadelphia.
What stays on the phone, and what uses Apple services?
Photo text recognition runs on-device. Parking notes use local app storage. The map uses Apple’s services, which may receive map-area requests. This page is an introduction to the preview, not the app’s privacy policy.
When can I download it?
There is no public release date yet. Real-phone checks, accessibility, readable legal information and app-specific privacy and support information need to be completed before a public release.
