App privacy policy
GearForge: Gear Preview collects no data. It has no account, no analytics and no tracking. This policy describes version 1.0 of the iPhone and iPad app from Brendon David Designs.
Your editor works offline
The built-in editor, previews and geometry calculations run on your device. The editor cannot reach the internet: it blocks all HTTP and HTTPS loads. The app does not automatically send designs, exports or usage information to Brendon David Designs.
The app includes no advertising and does not request contacts, location, camera or microphone access.
Designs and exports stay on your device
Editable designs are saved in GearForge’s Application Support folder on your device. Exports are stored separately in the app’s Documents folder. These include SVG, DXF, STL, prototype coaster ZIP packages and editable JSON backups.
Version 1.0 has no automatic expiry for those local files. Saving can fail if storage is unavailable; the app shows Not saved when an editable-design save does not complete.
You choose what to share
GearForge does not upload your files. When you choose Share for a saved export, the app supplies that file to the system share sheet. Copies go only to the destination you choose, such as Files or another app. Cancelling the share sheet keeps the file in GearForge.
Other apps and cloud services handle shared copies under their own policies. Device backups may include local designs and exports, depending on your system settings.
Removing designs and app data
In My designs, choose Remove, then confirm Remove design to remove an editable design. Removing a design keeps its exported files in Settings. Version 1.0 has no individual saved-export deletion control.
Deleting the app removes its current local designs and exports. Offloading keeps app data. Back up important work before deleting the app. Files you shared to other destinations and earlier device backups are managed separately; deleting a design or the app does not remove those copies.
Included tools, no in-app purchases
All tools are included in version 1.0. In-app purchases and Restore Purchases are not used. The app does not start StoreKit product, entitlement or account-sync requests in this version.
Privacy questions and support
Use the GearForge support form for privacy questions, including questions about a support message.
The app does not automatically send a support report. If you use the support form, Brendon David Designs receives your message, your email address and your name if you give it, through Google Forms. Avoid sending sensitive information.
This policy covers the app. Google Forms and this website operate separately from the offline editor.
